As previously reported (see blu-ray.com,
December 6), Warner Home Video's strategy regarding TV on BD is “focused on releasing TV shows that can best showcase the superior picture quality of Blu-ray”. Evidently, the new miniseries 'The Prisoner', recently aired on AMC, didn't pass the eye-candy test, as the studio just announced it on standard-definition disc but not Blu-ray.
This will come as a disappointment to TV fans who were looking forward to this remake starring Jim Caviezel as Six and Sir Ian McKellen as Two. Fortunately, A&E Home Video had no such reservations when it released the
original UK series on Blu-ray last October, to rave reviews.
