For the week that ended on August 22nd, Alliance Entertainment's
Project Hail Mary topped the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts for the second week in a row. The adaptaion of Andy Weir's novel of the same name opened in March 2026 to critical acclaim and financial success, topping the box office for its first two weeks en route to over $344 million domestically and over $684 million globally. Coming in second place on the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and 4K UHD charts is
Troy. Wolfgang Petersen's 2004 adaptaion of Homer's
The Illiad was originally released on Blu-ray by Warner Bros. back in
2007 in its 196-minute director's cut. Almost twenty years later, the film received a remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD release this week from Arrow Video, featuring both the director's cut and the film's 163-minute theatrical version, as well as Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD edition and a Blu-ray of extras. Rising back into the top three on the Blu-ray-only chart is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's
Obsession (2025). Made for just $750,000, Curry Barker's second feature film premiered in May 2026 to positive reviews and box office success, grossing over $263 million domestically and over $505 million globally, so far. This week,
Obsession sold 19% as many Blu-ray units as
Project Hail Mary, with an HD share of 64% and 30% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
