Australian label Umbrella Entertainment has revealed its December batch of releases. They are: Penny Lane Is Dead (2026), Jodorowsky's Dune (2013), Wilfred: The Complete Original Australian Series I & II (2007-2010), Mysterious Skin (2004), and Tucker & Dale vs. Evil (2010).
Penny Lane Is Dead
Description: The sweltering Australian summer of 1986. Penny Lane and her best friends Toni and Amy are celebrating Penny's university acceptance with a debauched 'no dick event' at a beach house. But when Penny's volatile cousin Kat crashes the party with a spiked cupcake and a cruel agenda, the night spirals into chaos. Her seedy boyfriend and his mates soon follow, dragging the girls into a brutal descent of blood, betrayal and dark absurdity.
Fueled by punk-rock energy and vicious satire, this bold debut from Mia'Kate Russell is a ferocious reckoning with internalized misogyny and the violence of male entitlement.
Special Features and Technical Specs:
Description: In 1974, Jodorowsky began work on his most ambitious project yet. Starring his own 12 year old son Brontis alongside Orson Welles, Mick Jagger, David Carradine and Salvador Dali, featuring music by Pink Floyd and art by some of the most provocative talents of the era, including H.R. Giger and Jean 'Moebius' Giraud, Jodorowsky's adaptation of Frank Herbert's classic sci-fi novel Dune was poised to change cinema forever.
For two years, Jodorowsky and his team of "spiritual warriors" worked night and day on the massive task of creating the fabulous world of Dune: over 3,000 storyboards, numerous paintings, incredible costumes, and an outrageous, moving and powerful script.
In the words of producer Michel Seydoux, "It should have been enough. But it wasn't."
Through interviews with legends and luminaries including H.R. Giger, Gary Kurtz and Nicolas Winding Refn, and an intimate and honest conversation with Jodorowsky filmed over the course of three years, Pavich's film, featuring never-before seen realizations of Jodorowsky's mind-blowing psychedelic space opera (animated by Emmy Award nominated Syd Garon), finally unearths the full saga of 'The Greatest Movie Never Made'.
Special Features and Technical Specs:
Description: One man. One woman. And a bong smoking dog who thinks he's human.
Adam can hardly believe his luck when he's invited home by Sarah - a gorgeous young woman he met at a Powderfinger concert. This joy is quickly turned on its head when he meets Wilfred - Sarah's cantankerous canine who is determined to make him feel as uncomfortable as possible. This might be cute and everything on the first night, but when Adam and Sarah start a serious, live-in relationship, Wilfred turns up the torment meter in his quest to drive Adam out of the house. Eventually, Adam is forced to question his sanity after spending whole weeks embroiled in an ongoing psychological war with a nine-year-old dog who thinks he's five.
Mysterious Skin 4K Blu-ray
Description: Brian Lackey, a troubled 18 year-old, was once a scared, introverted kid growing up in the small town. Plagued by nightmares and terrified of the dark, Brian believes he may have been the victim of an alien abduction.
Neil McCormick is the ultimate beautiful outsider. Wise beyond his years and curious about his developing sexuality, Neil found what he perceived to be love with his Little League baseball coach. Now, ten years later, he is a teenage hustler, nonchalant about the dangerous path his life is taking. Eventually, Neil's pursuit of what he thinks is love leads him to New York City, while Brian's search for what happened leads him to Neil – together, both ultimately discover the truth.
Directed by Gregg Araki and based on Scott Heim's acclaimed novel, MYSTERIOUS SKIN explores the hearts and minds of two very different boys who aren't as different as they first appear.
Special Features and Technical Specs:
DISC ONE - 4K BLU-RAY
Description: Evil just messed with the wrong hillbillies. Tucker & Dale, two loveable West Virginian hillbillies (Tudyk & Labine) are headed to their "fixer-upper" vacation cabin to drink some beer, do some fishin', and have a good time. But when they run into a group of preppy college kids who assume from their looks that they, like all hillbillies, must be demented backwoods killers, Tucker & Dale's vacation takes a bloody & hilarious turn for the worse.
