Australian label Imprint Films has informed us that it is preparing a Limited Edition 4K Blu-ray release of William Friedkin's The Hunted (2003), starring Tommy Lee Jones, Benicio del Toro, Connie Nielsen, Leslie Stefanson, and Ron Canada. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on September 30.
Description: William Friedkin's action thriller The Hunted joins the Imprint Collection on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio del Toro in a cat-and-mouse chase, packed with suspense and brutal, violent confrontation.
In the wilderness of British Columbia, two hunters are tracked and viciously murdered by Aaron Hallam. A former Special Operations instructor is approached and asked to apprehend Hallam (his former student), who has gone rogue after suffering severe battle stress from his time in Kosovo.
Also starring Connie Nielsen, John Finn, and Johnny Cash in an uncredited role as the Narrator, The Hunted was awarded three-and-a-half stars (out of four) from Roger Ebert, describing the film as a "pure and rather inspired example of the one-on-one chase movie".
2-disc 4K Blu-ray + Blu-ray Hardbox + 60-page Hardcover Booklet, including a brand NEW essay by film historian David Michael Brown.
