Blu-ray.com has learned about an exciting new project, Home Video Saga, launched by a team of French restoration experts and supporters of physical media. Home Video Saga, which is expected to be released on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray in late 2027, is described as a "docu-fiction on 50 years of home video cinema."
Description: HOME VIDEO SAGA retraces fifty years of home cinema, from Super 8 reels to 4K Blu-ray. A genuine history lesson on the origins of audio and video formats. At its heart, a collection of Star Wars editions gathered from around the world, across a wide range of formats, filmed on a dedicated set. The film alternates live-action footage and 3D imagery, made without generative AI.
The film will be finished in HDR and immersive sound to deliver the best possible experience, whatever the setup. The 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases will feature refined interactivity: menus, navigation and content exploration, in the spirit of the golden age of the DVD.
