Blu-ray Sales: July 19-25: Michael's Not Falling Down in Second Week

For the week that ended on July 25th, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Michael (2026) remained atop the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its second week. Antoine Fuqua's biopic of Michael Jackson, featuring the singer's real-life nephew Jaafar in the title role, opened in April 2026 to largely negative reviews, with many critics contending the film presents a sanitized version of Jackson's life. Audiences, however, largely didn't care and the film enjoyed immense success at the box office, with over $372 million domestically and over $643 million internationally, making Michael the first biographical film to gross over $1 billion and Jaafar Jackson the first lead actor to debut in a film that grossed over $1 billion. This week, Michael had an HD share of 58% and 27% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, enough to again make it the week's top 4K UHD release.

Remaining in second place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Obsession (2025). Made for just $750,000, Curry Barker's second feature film premiered in May 2026 to positive reviews and box office success, grossing over $262 million domestically and over $474 million globally. This week, Obsession sold 94% as many Blu-ray units as Michael, with an HD share of 66% and 29% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Coming in third place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Falling Down. The 1993 drama starring Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall was originally released on Blu-ray by Warner Bros. in 2009, but this week saw it released on remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD by Arrow Video, with Dolby Vision HDR on the latter and both new and existing extras. This week, Falling Down sold 37% as many Blu-ray units as Michael, with an HD share of 97% and 86% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Pleasantville and Unlawful Entry, both of which were released on 4K UHD by Shout Factory this week, rose up to Nos. 7 and 14 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while on the UHD Sellers chart, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's The 7th Voyage of Sinbad 4K and the Criterion Collection's Cruel Story of Youth 4K came in at Nos. 10 and 19, respectively.
