Michael (2026) topped the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. Antoine Fuqua's biopic of Michael Jackson, featuring the singer's real-life nephew Jaafar in the title role, opened in April 2026 to largely negative reviews, with many critics contending the film presents a sanitized version of Jackson's life. Audiences, however, largely didn't care and the film enjoyed immense success at the box office, with over $372 million domestically and over $637 million internationally, making
Michael the first biographical film to gross over $1 billion and Jaafar Jackson the first lead actor to debut in a film that grossed over $1 billion. This week,
Michael had an HD share of 64% and 38% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, still enough to also make it the week's top 4K UHD release.
Debuting in second place on the Blu-ray-only cjhart is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's
Obsession (2025). Made for just $750,000, Curry Barker's second feature film premiered in May 2026 to positive reviews and box office success, grossing over $261 million domestically and over $458 million globally. This week,
Obsession sold 82% as many Blu-ray units as
Michael, with a perfect HD share of 100% and 86% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Dropping down to third place in its fifth week is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its fourth week. When
The Super Mario Bros. Movie charmed critics and audiences alike, grossing over $1.3 billion in 2023, a sequel was all but assured, and in April 2026,
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie debuted in theaters, receiving a tepid critical response, but also making a mint at the box office, taking in over $429 million domestically and over $1.01 billion globally so far. This week,
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie sold just 15% as many Blu-ray units as
Michael, with an HD share of 48% and 18% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Elsewhere on the charts, Universal's Blu-ray box set of
The Office: Superfan Complete Series - Superfan Extended Episodes (2005-2013) debuted at No. 4 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's
The Mummy debuted at No. 5, Magnolia Home Entertainment's
Normal (both 2026) debuted at No. 6 and GKIDS and Shout Factory's
Dan Da Dan: Season Two (2025) debuted at No. 7. Rounding out the top ten was the Criterion Collection's Blu-ray and 4K UHD releases of
Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, while outside the top ten, Arrow Video's
Red Sun and Criterion's
Hud and
The Crying Game came in at Nos. 12, 13 and 16, respectively.
Finally, on the UHD Sellers chart, Shout's
Full Contact 4K came in at No. 20.
