Terminator: Salvation' was the clear winner in the Blu-ray
sales race last week, according to Nielsen VideoScan First Alert. McG's
postapocalyptic actioner sold nearly three times as many BD copies as the
other major new release of the week, '
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian', and set
a new BD market share record for a new release.
In overall packaged-media sales, the places were reversed, with the
second 'Night at the Museum' movie edging past the fourth 'Terminator'.

Regarding Blu-ray market share, 'Terminator Salvation' sold 42% of its
copies on Blu-ray, breaking the record for a new release, set only two
weeks ago by 'Star Trek' (which had had 38% in its first week). 'Night at
the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian' had 14%.
Update
Overall, BD sales revenue was $46.80 million, up 157.10% from the same week last year.
Packaged-media sales revenue was $315.20 million, down 10% year-on-year. Blu-ray accounted for 14.8% of that revenue.
