Blu-ray Sales: June 21-27: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Still Number One in Week Two

For the week that ended on June 27th, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's The Super Mario Galaxy Movie topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its second week. When The Super Mario Bros. Movie charmed critics and audiences alike, grossing over $1.3 billion in 2023, a sequel was all but assured, and in April 2026, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie debuted in theaters, receiving a tepid critical response, but also making a mint at the box office, taking in over $429 million domestically and over $1 billion globally so far. This week, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie had an HD share of 52% and 21% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, enough to again make it the week's top 4K UHD release.

Rising up a place to second in its sixth week is Disney and 20th Century Studios' Avatar: Fire and Ash. The third film in the Avatar franchise and direct sequel to Avatar: The Way of Water opened in December 2025 to mixed reviews but box office success, grossing over $404 million domestically and over $1.08 billion internationally for a total of some $1.485 billion globally. This week, Avatar: Fire and Ash sold 37% as many Blu-ray units as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with an HD share of 61% and 29% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

And again in the top three Blu-rays is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's One Battle After Another. Originally released without extras in January 2026, he Oscar-winning drama recently recived a new 4K UHD edition with a Blu-ray disc of extras. This week, One Battle After Another sold 33% as many Blu-ray units as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, with an HD share of 93% and 93% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
