Alliance Entertainment, in association with MGM, has announced that it will release on Blu-ray Aleshea Harris' Is God Is (2026), starring Sterling K. Brown, Mykelti Williamson, Vivica A. Fox, Janelle Monáe, and Kara Young. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on July 28.
Description: Is God Is is Aleshea Harris' directorial debut and is based on Harris's adaptation of her critically-acclaimed stage play of the same name. The play won an Obie Award (2018), Relentless Award (2016), and the Helen Merrill Playwriting Award (2019).
The story follows Racine (Kara Young) and Anaia (Mallori Johnson), twin sisters with disfiguring burns. The sisters' world is upended when the mother (Vivica A. Fox) they believed long dead summons them to her bedside and reveals that their father (Sterling K. Brown) is responsible for her bedridden state as well as their scars. When she orders them to kill him for what he did, the sisters must decide whether to seek vengeance or find mercy.
A story fueled by righteous anger and revenge, Is God Is also serves as a reminder that in order to set ourselves free, we must face the truth… no matter how hard it is.
