Australian label Via Vision Entertainment has informed us that it plans to release on Blu-ray Carry On: Collection 5 (1969-1970). The four-disc box set is scheduled to arrive on the market on July 29.
Description: Collection Five brings four more Carry On… gems to Blu-ray for the first time worldwide, each restored from their original camera negatives.
The box office triumph of the Carry On… film series is as legendary as the British cast who became synonymous with the long-running franchise. The mere mention of Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jacques, Barbara Windsor, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims, Jim Dale, and Bernard Bresslaw conjures up visions of mirth-making situations, saucy humour, and misunderstood intentions.
This special collection includes a folded 449 x 665mm reproduction of the original UK quad poster for each film, and a glossy slipcase housing all four films.
CARRY ON CAMPING (1969)
Sid and Bernie keep having their amorous intentions snubbed by their girlfriends, Joan and Anthea, and decide to take them on a holiday to Paradise Camp. The men believe they're off to a nudist colony - but they couldn't be more wrong, and meet up with the weirdest bunch of campers you can imagine.
CARRY ON AGAIN DOCTOR (1969)
Dr. Nookey is disgraced and sent to a remote island hospital. He is given a secret slimming potion by a member of staff, Gladstone Screwer, and he flies back to England to fame and fortune. But others want to cash in on his good fortunes, and some just want him brought down a peg or two.
CARRY ON UP THE JUNGLE (1970)
The Carry On team send up the Tarzan tradition in great style. Lady Evelyn Bagley mounts an expedition to find her long-lost baby. Bill Boosey is the fearless hunter and guide. Professor Tinkle is searching for the rare Oozalum bird. Everything is going swimmingly until a gorilla enters the camp, and then the party is captured by an all-female tribe from Aphrodisia…
CARRY ON LOVING (1970)
The Wedded Bliss computer dating agency aims to bring together the lonely hearts of Much-Snoggin-in-the-Green. Its owner, Sidney Bliss, has enough complications in his own love life, but still produces a pamphlet called 'The Wit to Woo'. The strange collection of hopefuls leads to some outlandish matches - and jealousies are bound to lead to trouble.
