Synapse Films has made available on 4K Blu-ray/Blu-ray Robert C. Hughes' Hunter's Blood (1986), starring Sam Bottoms, Kim Delaney, Clu Gulager, Ken Swofford, and Joey Travolta. The release is available to order from select independent etailers now.
Description: It all started in fun, but it ended in sheer, savage terror. At dawn, five "city boys" set out on a weekend deer-hunting trip. They're just hoping to bag a few bucks, let loose, and have a good ol' time. But what starts out as an innocent excursion turns into a deadly nightmare of horror and torment. The hunters run afoul of a maniacal pack of hillbilly poachers who roam the thick, unforgiving backwoods, intent on keeping outsiders away from the forest and their illegal operations. Soon, what was intended as a fun weekend getaway turns into a series of brutal encounters and a desperate fight for life. Blood is spilled and lives are lost, and there's no telling who will survive to tell the tale!
In the spirit of classic survival thrillers such as Deliverance and Rituals, Hunter's Blood features a stellar cast including Sam Bottoms, Clu Gulager, Kim Delaney, Billy Drago, and Bruce Glover, as well as the first-ever theatrical film role for Billy Bob Thornton. Hunter's Blood comes home in an all-new uncut 4K restoration presented in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and loaded with exclusive supplemental material including multiple audio commentary tracks and an all-new video retrospective. This REGION-FREE two-disc set contains a 4K (2160p) UHD Blu-ray, and a Blu-ray (1080p) as well as limited edition collector's items exclusive to this release. This set features new box art from artist Sean Longmore.
