British label Second Sight is preparing 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Erik Skjoldbjærg's Insomnia (1997), starring Stellan Skarsgård, Sverre Anker Ousdal, Maria Mathiesen, Gisken Armand, and Kristian Figenschow. The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on May 25.
Description: A detective is sent to investigate a teenage girl's murder in a small Norwegian town above the arctic circle. As his mental state begins to crack, he struggles to keep his sanity while wrestling to solve the case amidst the unrelenting 24-hour daylight.
