Kino Lorber are preparing a Blu-ray release of Mark L. Lester's
The Base (1999) and
The Base 2: Guilty as Charged (2000). The double-features
release is scheduled to arrive on the market on May 19.
THE BASE
When an officer is gunned down on the Camp Tillman Army base, the Pentagon sends in their top Army Intelligence man, John Murphy (Mark Dacascos, Only the Strong, John Wick 3). Murphy discovers that a senior sergeant (John Abell, Rapid Assault) and his men are attempting to take over the drug business along the Mexico border. As Murphy delves deeper into the case, he walks a fine line of corruption—and ultimately pits himself against an entire army.
THE BASE 2: GUILTY AS CHARGED
Two dozen U.S. soldiers are missing without a trace and the President wants answers. It's up to John Murphy (Antonio Sabàto Jr., High Voltage, The Big Hit) to find them. Murphy goes undercover to infiltrate an underground military court where those judged guilty are forced into a lethal sport of hunting—and they are the prey. It will take more than surviving the game to take down the court's sadistic ringleader (James Remar, The Warriors).
