VCI Home Entertainment will release two classic film noirs on Blu-ray: Rudolph Maté's D.O.A. (1950) and William A. Seiter's Borderline (1950). The double-feature release is scheduled to arrive on the market on May 12.
D.O.A.
Frank Bigelow (Edmond O'Brien) is about to die, and he knows it. The accountant has been poisoned and has only 24 hours before the lethal concoction kills him. Determined to find out who his murderer is, Frank, with the help of his assistant and girlfriend, Paula (Pamela Britton), begins to trace back over his last steps. As he frantically tries to unravel the mystery behind his own impending demise, his sleuthing leads him to a group of crooked businessmen and another murder.
BORDERLINE
The Los Angeles police know that Pete Ritchie (Raymond Burr) has been bringing drugs into the city, but they can't pin a single piece of evidence on him. After many botched attempts to get at the crook, they resort to having cop Madeleine (Claire Trevor) go undercover and seduce her way into Ritchie's circle. Before she can get anywhere, she's abducted by Johnny (Fred MacMurray), a government agent posing as a thug. But Johnny and Madeleine have no idea they're on the same side of the law.
