MGM is preparing a Blu-ray release of Robert M. Young's Triumph of the Spirit (1989), starring Willem Dafoe, Edward James Olmos, Robert Loggia, Wendy Gazelle, and Kelly Wolf. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on March 31.
Description: Triumph of the Spirit is a powerful boxing drama that takes place during WWII at the Auschwitz internment camp. Salamo Arouch, interned at the death camp with his family and friends, is forced to fight his fellow inmates to amuse the guards the loser is sent to the gas chamber. Salamo's prowess in the ring is both his salvation and his nightmare, as his hollow victories condemn others to death. Still he fights on, hoping he might somehow save his father, his friends perhaps even his soul.
