Grindhouse Releasing will release on Blu-ray Palmer Rockey's Scarlet Warning 666 a.k.a. It Happened One Night (1974). The release, a three-disc Limited Edition set (2 Blu-rays/CD), is scheduled to arrive on the market on May 12.

Description: Palmer Rockey's Scarlet Warning 666 is a mind-bending descent into outsider cinema that makes Plan 9 from Outer Space and The Room look restrained by comparison. Written, produced, directed, and starring Dallas-based auteur Palmer Rockey, this long-lost cult anomaly began life in the 1970s as It Happened One Weekend before being repeatedly re-edited and reimagined over decades under alternate titles including Scarlet Love and Love Is Deep Inside. What survives is a stupefying, incomprehensible, and utterly singular fever dream of Satanic conspiracies, occult rituals, twin brothers, country estates, and rock-opera self-mythology.

Rockey plays dual roles as twin brothers ensnared in a labyrinthine tale of diabolical skullduggery. Laughed off the screen at its original premiere, the film refused to die. Instead, Rockey spent decades reshaping it, reframing its unintended absurdity as satire and adding an original rock soundtrack featuring his own vocal performances. The result is less a conventional narrative than a meta-cinematic artifact--part exploitation relic, part vanity project, part outsider art epic.

Now rescued from obscurity by Grindhouse Releasing, this North American debut arrives as a lavish limited collector's edition. The film has been beautifully restored in 4K from the original 35mm camera negative, presenting the definitive version of this legendary cult curiosity. The set includes in-depth new interviews with producer Cookie Rockey and co-star Dr. Ron DiSalvo, additional conversations with punk icon Jello Biafra and rare-record authority Jonny Trunk, plus an audio commentary by Reverend Ivan Stang of the Church of the SubGenius. Archival theatrical trailers and extensive still galleries further contextualize the film's improbable journey.

A glossy illustrated booklet features liner notes by exploitation historian Chris Poggiali, housed in an embossed slipcover with new artwork by Jerry Martinez, while the Blu-ray cover showcases painting by cult artist Dave Lebow. The package also includes a newly remastered bonus CD of the Scarlet Love movie album in 24-bit/192kHz sound, offering Rockey's surreal rock soundtrack in its most sonically vivid presentation. Produced by Academy Award-winning editor Bob Murawski--known for his work on The Hurt Locker, Army of Darkness, and Orson Welles' The Other Side of the Wind--this edition solidifies the film's place as one of exploitation cinema's most coveted holy grails.

Lost for decades and now restored, Palmer Rockey's Scarlet Warning 666 stands as a jaw-dropping monument to cinematic obsession--an outsider epic that defies explanation, resists judgment, and demands to be experienced to be believed.
