Doctor Blood's Coffin Blu-ray

Hammer is preparing a Blu-ray release of Sidney J. Furie's Doctor Blood's Coffin (1961), starring Kieron Moore, Hazel Court, Ian Hunter, Kenneth J. Warren, and Gerald Lawson. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on May 4.

Scripted by Oscar-winner Nathan Juran and featuring camera-work from a young Nicolas Roeg, Doctor Blood's Coffin has been painstakingly restored by Hammer from scans of the original film negatives.

A man goes missing in the sleepy village of Porthcarron – the latest victim in a series of horrifying medical experiments carried out by the arrogant and maniacal Dr Peter Blood. Fixated on creating life from death, Blood is determined that his gift is only for those he considers worthy – at the cost of those he doesn't.
