Blu-ray Sales: January 25-31: Wicked: For Good Slays a Resurgent Sinners in Second Week

For the week that ended on January 31st, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Wicked: For Good kept the top spot on the Blu-ray-only, overall packaged media and UHD Sellers charts in its second week. The continuation of Wicked (2024) opened a year later in November 2025, receiving mixed reviews, but strong box office, eventually grossing over $342 million domestically and over $527 million globally. This week, Wicked: For Good had an HD share of 53%, with 17% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, enough to again make it the week's top 4K UHD title.

Coming in second place on both the Blu-ray-only and UHD Sellers charts is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Sinners (2025), which was last in the top three Blu-rays during the week that ended on August 9th, 2025. The horror film from writer / director Ryan Coogler, starring Michael B. Jordan in dual roles, opened in April 2025 to critical acclaim and box office success, eventually grossing over $279 million domestically and over $368 million worldwide. In January 2026, Sinners received a record 16 Oscar nominations, including Best Cinematography for Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor for Delroy Lindo, Best Supporting Actress for Wunmi Mosaku, Best Actor for Jordan, Best Director and Best Picture. This week, Sinners sold 41% as many Blu-ray units as Wicked: For Good, with an HD share of 76% and 53% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Dropping to third place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's One Battle After Another. The latest film from Paul Thomas Anderson went before the cameras in early 2024, but the content of the film ended up being eerily representative late 2025, when the film opened in cinemas that September to critical acclaim. While the film was unable to match its critical success at the box office (the reported budget was between $130–175 million), its domestic gross of over $71 million and global total of over $207 million make it the highest-grossing film of Anderson's career. The film has also earned numerous awards and nominations, including nine nominations and five awards at the Golden Globes (including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy) and 13 nominations (including Best Picture, Best Director, four acting nominations and Best Cinematography for Michael Bauman) at the upcoming Academy Awards. This week, One Battle After Another sold 36% as many Blu-ray units as Wicked: For Good, with an HD share of 52% and 23% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the Blu-ray-only chart, Shout Factory's Once a Thief and the Criterion Collection's House Party (1990), two films making their debuts on Blu-ray and 4K UHD this week, came in at Nos. 16 and 20, respectively. On the UHD Sellers chart, the same two titles came in at Nos. 11 and 15.
