Blu-ray Sales: December 14-20: Turtle Power Boogies to The Top of the Charts (UPDATED)

Posted January 7, 2026 07:02 AM by Sean Greenwood

UPDATE: On January 10th, 2026, most of the Blu-ray and 4K UHD sales charts for this week were updated based on the previous week's positions provided in the next week's (December 21-27) charts. Nos. 6, 8 and 10 on the 4K UHD chart are still unconfirmed.

Note: The source article and the Blu-ray and 4K UHD sales charts linked in it disagree about the placement of several titles. For example, the article says No. 2 on the Blu-ray chart is Superman (2025), but the Blu-ray chart says it is Boogie Nights, while the same chart shows Superman at No. 7. The article also mentions that Boogie Nights is No. 2 on the 4K UHD chart, but the charts show it as No. 3. The article also lists Dogma as No. 4 on the Blu-ray chart, but the 4K UHD chart shows it as No. 3, in addition to conflicts with Dr. Seuss' The Grinch, The Godfather Trilogy (1972-1990) and listing the Blu-ray-only release of The Strangers: Chapter 2 at No. 19 on the 4K UHD chart, amongst other errors. The top home media and 4K UHD market share charts appear to be error-free.

For now, only the titles as mentioned in the source article are included. If and when the charts are updated, the article will also be updated.

For the week that ended on December 20th, Arrow Video's remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD sets for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy (1990-1993) topped the Blu-ray-only chart. Previously released on Blu-ray in 2009 by Warner Bros., Arrow Video's new three-disc sets contain brand new 4K remasters of all three films, with a choice of original LPCM 2.0 audio or Dolby Atmos (for the first film) / DTS-HD MA 5.1 (for the two sequels) remixes and Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD edition, as well as a bevy of both new and existing bonus content. This week, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy had a perfect HD share of 100%, with 97% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, enough to also make it the week's top 4K UHD title.

Rising to second place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Superman (2025). The latest screen iteration of the classic DC Comics character opened in cinemas in July 2025 and promptly topped the box office, grossing over $125 million on its opening weekend en route to over $354 million domestically and over $616 million worldwide. This week, Superman sold 68% as many Blu-ray units as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy, with an HD share of 75% and 29% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Coming in third place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Boogie Nights. Paul Thomas Anderson's Oscar-nominated 1997 comedy drama about the adult film industry of the 1970s and 80s was previously released on Blu-ray in 2010, but Warner's new 4K UHD release features a new 4K remaster with HDR, along with new and legacy extras, including two audio commentary tracks and a two-part panel at the American Cinematheque filmed in 2023. This week, Boogie Nights sold 60% as many Blu-ray units as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Trilogy, with a perfect HD share of 100% and all 100% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
