Deaf Crocodile has provided a promotional trailer for the recent restoration of Vladimir Motyl's classic film White Sun of the Desert (1970), which is scheduled to be released on Blu-ray in early 2026.
White Sun of the Desert is a classic Soviet film about a Red Army soldier, Fyodor Sukhov, who is demobilized during the Russian Civil War and ordered to guard the harem of a bandit leader named Abdullah. While trying to return home to his wife, Sukhov is forced to protect the women, leading to a series of adventures and conflicts as he tries to survive the desert and defeat Abdullah's forces. Cinematography by Eduard Rozovsky (Amphibian Man).
One of the most popular Soviet films ever made, WHITE SUN has been beautifully restored by Mosfilm for its first-ever U.S. Blu-ray release through Deaf Crocodile, in association with Seagull Films. In Russian with English subtitles.
