Australian label Imprint Films has informed us that it will add six new titles to its Blu-ray catalog in February. They are:
The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989),
The Fan (1996),
Mr. Jones (1993),
Wrong Is Right (1982),
True Colors (1991), and
Racing with the Moon (1984). All titles are scheduled to arrive on the market on February 25.
THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS
Brothers Jeff Bridges and Beau Bridges star alongside Michelle Pfeiffer in this musical romantic comedy, nominated for four Academy Awards.
When sibling musicians meet a sultry songbird, the brothers find their act – and their lives – growing more entertaining than either of them may be able to handle.
Written and directed by Steve Kloves (who adapted the screenplays of seven of the eight Harry Potter films), the film was praised by critics, labelled "a Hollywood rarity" by Time and called "as salty and sexy and unhousebroken a movie as you could hope to find" by the Los Angeles Times.
THE FAN
Robert De Niro and Wesley Snipes star in psychological 90s thriller The Fan, directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun), based on the book by Peter Abrahams.
When the San Francisco Giants pay centerfielder Bobby Rayburn $40 million to lead their team to the World Series, no one is happier or more supportive than #1 fan Gil Renard. So when Rayburn becomes mired in the worst slump of his career, the obsessed Renard decides to stop at nothing to help his idol regain his former glory… not even murder.
Also starring Benicio del Toro, John Leguizamo, Jack Black, and Ellen Barkin, a pulsating original score from legendary composer Hans Zimmer underscores edge-of-your-seat suspense and scenes of brutal violence.
MR JONES
Richard Gere, Lena Olin, and Anne Bancroft star in Mr Jones, a romantic drama from Oscar-nominated Leaving Las Vegas director Mike Figgis.
Impulsive, irresponsible, irresistible – Mr. Jones is a man who effortlessly draws people to him with his infectious charm and fascinating energy. Intelligent, dedicated, respected – Dr. Libbie Bowen is a psychiatrist who, despite all her training, is totally unprepared for Mr. Jones.
Awarded three out of four stars from Roger Ebert, who described the film as "worth seeing, for Gere's transitions from highs to lows, which are so convincing that we really do feel in the presence of mental illness, with all of its seductive interior logic."
WRONG IS RIGHT
Sean Connery stars in Wrong Is Right, a sharp-tongued political satire written and directed by Richard Brooks (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Looking For Mr. Goodbar), based on the book The Better Angels by Charles McCarry.
When a globe-trotting reporter comes across a story involving a terrorism plot, he discovers things may not be as they seem…
Released as The Man with the Deadly Lens in the UK, the film also stars Robert Conrad, George Grizzard and Katharine Ross, and features appearances from Leslie Nielsen, Hardy Krüger, Dean Stockwell, and Jennifer Jason Leigh in her second ever film appearance.
TRUE COLORS
John Cusack, James Spader, Imogen Stubbs, Mandy Patinkin, and Richard Widmark star in True Colors, a cutthroat political drama from Oscar-nominated director Herbert Ross (Footloose, Play it Again, Sam).
Two best friends. One aiming for a career in politics, the other the Department of Justice. Their friendship is tested when one discovers the other is involved in corrupt dealings.
RACING WITH THE MOON
Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage, and Elizabeth McGovern star in this searing drama from director Richard Benjamin.
On the eve of deployment to World War II, two friends discover the true meaning of love and the importance of friendship.
Restored from a new 4K scan of the original 35mm negative, this bittersweet film is emblematic of a generation caught between innocence and responsibility, capturing the fragility of youth on the brink of wartime adulthood.
