Sony Pictures has provided an exclusive new trailer for Nia DaCosta's 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026), starring Ralph Fiennes, Jack O'Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, and Chi Lewis-Parry. The film is set to open in theaters across the nation on January 16.

Description: Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in 28 Days Later but turning that world on its head - Nia DaCosta directs 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship - with consequences that could change the world as they know it - and Spike's (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O'Connell) becomes a nightmare he can't escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival - the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.

Earlier this year, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later (2025). You can see our listings and reviews of these releases here and here.

Description: It's been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.
