For the week that ended on November 8th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's
The Fantastic Four: First Steps took back the top spot on the Blu-ray-only chart in its fourth week. The 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the third iteration of the superhero family in the past twenty years, after 20th Century Fox tried their hand in
2005 (which spawned a sequel in
2007) and
2015. The new film, which is meant to be a reboot and the first film in Phase Six of the MCU, opened in July 2025 to positive reviews and box office success, grossing over $117 million on its opening weekend en route to over $274 million domestically and over $521 million globally. This week,
The Fantastic Four: First Steps had an HD share of 60%, with 26% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Dropping to second place on the Blu-ray-only chart is the previous week's top Blu-ray, Toho's
Shin Godzilla. Released on 4K UHD the week prior, the 2016 film had been released on Blu-ray in
2017 and the film's 4K UHD upgrade was preceded by a global theatrical re-release, coming off the major success of Toho's subsequent
Godzilla Minus One in 2023. This week,
Shin Godzilla sold 96% as many Blu-ray units as
The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with a perfect HD share of 100% and 53% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, but nevertheless, the week's top 4K UHD title is...
Shout Factory's
Hard Boiled. The 1992 Hong Kong action film, starring Chow Yun-Fat and directed by John Woo, was originally released on Blu-ray in
2010, to decidedly mixed reviews. A decade-and-a-half later and the film has been newly remastered from a 4K scan of its original camera negative, now coming with original Cantonese and dubbed English DTS-HD MA Mono audio options, Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc and several new extras across a three-disc set, including a new interview and audio commentary with director John Woo, the film's Criterion Collection laserdisc / DVD audio commentary and a 52-page booklet. This week,
Hard Boiled sold 83% as many Blu-ray units as
The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with a perfect HD share of 100% and 100% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Elsewhere on the charts, Arrow Video and the Criterion Collection's 4K UHD upgrades of
Outland and
The Breakfast Club brought those titles up to Nos. 13 and 18 on the Blu-ray-only chart. Both catalog titles also ended up being the top two UHD titles by percentage of unit sales, selling 98% and 92% of their respective units from the 4K UHD format.
