For the week that ended on October 18th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's
The Fantastic Four: First Steps topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. The 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the third iteration of the superhero family in the past twenty years, after 20th Century Fox tried their hand in
2005 (which spawned a sequel in
2007) and
2015. The new film, which is meant to be a reboot and the first film in Phase Six of the MCU, opened in July 2025 to positive reviews and box office success, grossing over $117 million on its opening weekend en route to over $274 million domestically and over $521 million globally. This week,
The Fantastic Four: First Steps had a strong HD share of 78%, with 47% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, but interestingly, this was
not enough to make it the week's top 4K UHD title, an honor which went to...
Paramount Home Media Distribution's
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. The eighth film in the
Mission: Impossible franchise is a direct sequel to the previous entry,
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, which subsequently dropped the "Part One" from its title. The new film opened in May 2025 over the Memorial Day weekend and came in second behind Disney's live-action reboot of
Lilo & Stitch (2025), eventually grossing over $197 million domestically. However, as often occurs with these big action films, its international gross was quite a bit better at over $401 million, giving the film a global total of over $598 million, more than
Dead Reckoning, but less than the three previous films. This week,
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning sold 78% as many Blu-ray units as
The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with an HD share of 66%. Because the film was sold on Blu-ray only as a 4K UHD combo pack, all 66% of units were sold from the 4K UHD format, making
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning the week's top 4K UHD title.
Debuting in third place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's
Weapons (2025). The original horror film from Zach Cregger was a huge success when it opened in August 2025, earning positive reviews and grossing over $151 million domestically and over $267 million worldwide against a reported budget of just $38 million. This week,
Weapons sold 31% as many Blu-ray units as
The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with a strong HD share of 71% and 40% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Elsewhere on the Blu-ray-only chart, Legacy Recordings' Blu-ray of
David Gilmour - Live at the Circus Maximus debuted at No. 8, while Lionsgate Home Entertainment's
The Devil's Rejects, which was released on 4K UHD (as an Amazon Exclusive SteelBook) this week, came in at No. 9. Outside the top ten, Universal's
Back to the Future Part III, which was released individually on 4K UHD this week, came in at No. 12, while Kino Lorber's 4K UHD upgrade of
Ilsa: She Wolf of the SS brought that film to No. 15. Rounding out the top twenty Blu-rays was Universal's new release of the first
Back to the Future, which, like its two sequels, also saw its first individual release on 4K UHD this week.
Elsewhere on the UHD Sellers chart, Universal's
Back to the Future Part II 4K release came in at No. 17 (incidentally,
Back to the Future 4K came in at No. 14), while Kino's
The Bone Collector 4K came in at No. 18.
