Image Entertainment, as part of the reported financial results for its second
fiscal quarter, informed that domestic Blu-ray revenues in July-September
2009 were over $2.5 million, 150.6% up from the same quarter last year. BD
is now the second largest revenue stream for Image, while digital distribution
revenues increased by just 8.7% and stuck around the $1 million mark, and
broadcast dipped 47.9%.
Here is a summary of the revenues in July-September 2009 and 2008:
- Domestic DVD: $24,393,000 | $27,909,000
- Domestic BD: $2,561,000 | $1,022,000
- Digital distribution: $1,060,000 | $975,000
- Broadcast: $612,000 | $1,174,000
However, BD revenues weren't enough to put Image in the black, as it
reported a net loss of $1,614,000.
