For the week of September 22nd, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has a Blu-ray and 4K UHD release for James Gunn's Superman (2025), starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan and Nathan Fillion.
Description: When Superman is drawn into conflicts both abroad and at home, his actions to protect humankind are questioned, and his vulnerability allows tech billionaire and master deceiver Lex Luthor to leverage the opportunity to get Superman out of the way for good. Will the Daily Planet's intrepid reporter Lois Lane, together with the aid of Metropolis's other metahumans and Superman's own four-legged companion, Krypto, be able to help Superman before Luthor can completely destroy him?
Warner's Blu-ray releases of Superman contain the film's Dolby Atmos audio, with Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD edition. Also new on Blu-ray and 4K UHD from Warner is The Last of Us: The Complete Second Season (2025), starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. The three-disc set contains all seven episodes and over two hours of extras, including the featurettes Ellie's Ultimate Revenge, Beneath the Surface: The Visual FX of The Last of Us and Growing the World of The Last of Us, as well as character featurettes, making of featurettes for every episode and more. In addition to standard packaging, a Limited Edition SteelBook will also be available.
Then new on Blu-ray and 4K UHD from Warner is Juan Jose Meza-Leon's Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires (Batman Azteca: Choque de Imperios), featuring the voices of Horacio García Rojas, Omar Chaparro and Álvaro Morte.
Description: This bold reimagining of the Batman legend unfolds within the vibrant and fierce culture of 16th century Mesoamerica. In the time of the Aztec empire, tragedy strikes Yohualli Coatl, a young Aztec boy, when his father is murdered by Spanish conquistadors. To warn King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, of imminent danger, Yohualli escapes to Tenochtitlán. There, he trains in the temple of the bat god Tzinacan with his mentor, developing equipment and weaponry to confront the Spanish invasion and avenge his father's death. Warner's Blu-ray releases of Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires feature lossy Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1 audio (with English translation subtitles) and HDR on the 4K UHD edition. An English-dubbed audio track in lossless DTS-HD MA 5.1 is also available, along with English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles. Sourced from a new 4K master, Warner presents Corpse Bride with Dolby Vision HDR and a new Dolby Atmos audio remix. New on Blu-ray and 4K UHD from the Criterion Collection is Gints Zilbalodis' animated film Flow (Straume) (2024).

Criterion's Blu-ray releases of Flow contain DTS-HD MA 7.1 audio, an audio description track and optional English SDH subtitles, while the 4K UHD disc is presented in SDR, both from a 4K master approved by Gints Zilbalodis. Extras include Zilbalodis' first film Away (2019) presented on Blu-ray from a 4K master, audio commentary with Zilbalodis, a feature-length animatic, interviews with Zilbalodis and co-writer / co-producer Matīss Kaža, the making-of documentary Dream Cat (2025), Zilbalodis' short films Aqua (2012) and Priorities (2014) (with new audio commentaries by the director), an unused-shot reel (with new audio commentary by the director) and trailers, TV spots, and proof-of-concept teasers. Also included is an essay by critic Nicolas Rapold, as well as collectible stickers.
Also coming to Blu-ray and 4K UHD from Criterion is Jacques Audiard's Read My Lips (Sur mes lèvres) (2001), starring Vincent Cassel, Emmanuelle Devos, Olivier Gourmet, Olivier Perrier, Olivia Bonamy and Bernard Alane. Sourced from a new 4K master (supervised and approved by Jacques Audiard and director of photography Mathieu Vadepied), Criterion presents Read My Lips with DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio, optional, newly-translated English subtitles and Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include a new afterword by Audiard, audio commentary with Vincent Cassel and Emmanuelle Devos, a making-of program featuring Audiard, Vadepied, and co-screenwriter Tonino Benacquista, an interview with composer Alexandre Desplat, deleted scenes with commentary by Audiard and a trailer. Also included is an essay by film scholar Ginette Vincendeau.
Finally from Criterion this week is a Blu-ray for Jacques Audiard's The Beat That My Heart Skipped (De battre mon cœur s'est arrêté) (2005), starring Romain Duris, Niels Arestrup, Jonathan Zaccaï, Gilles Cohen, Linh-Dan Pham and Aure Atika. Sourced from an HD master (approved by Jacques Audiard), Criterion presents The Beat That My Heart Skipped with DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio and optional, newly-translated English subtitles. Extras include new interviews with Audiard, co-screenwriter Tonino Benacquista and composer Alexandre Desplat, deleted scenes with commentary by Audiard, rehearsal footage and a trailer. Also included is an essay by film critic Jonathan Romney.
New on Blu-ray and 4K UHD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later, starring Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O'Connell, Alfie Williams and Ralph Fiennes.
Description: It's been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. Sony's 4K UHD release of 28 Years Later contains Dolby Vision HDR and the film's Dolby Atmos audio. Extras on Blu-ray include Days to Years, Capturing the Chaos, The Survivors, Becoming the Infected and Behind the Cameras. In addition to standard packaging, a Collector's Edition SteelBook will also be available.
Also coming from Sony is a 4K UHD upgrade for Tom Savini's Night of the Living Dead (1990), starring Tony Todd, Bill Moseley, Katie Finneran, Tom Towles, Patricia Tallman and William Butler. Sourced from a new 4K master, Sony presents both uncensored and theatrical versions of Night of the Living Dead with Dolby Vision HDR and a choice of a new Dolby Atmos remix (on the 4K UHD disc only), 5.1 or (on the theatrical version only) 2.0 Surround audio options. Extras include a new audio commentary with Tom Savini on the uncensored version (also on the 4K UHD disc), while an included remastered Blu-ray additionally features new interviews with actors Bill Moseley, William Butler, McKee Anderson and Heather Mazur, producers John Russo and Russell Streiner, editor Tom Dubensky and zombie performers Greg Funk and Dyrk Ashton. Also included on the Blu-ray is legacy audio commentary with Tom Savini, the featurettes Savini's Night with Director Tom Savini, Being Barbara with Actress Patricia Tallman, Return to the Living Dead with Special Makeup Effects Supervisors John Vulich and Everett Burrell and the making-of featurette The Dead Walk, as well as a trailer.

New on Blu-ray and 4K UHD from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is Gerard Johnstone's M3GAN 2.0, starring Jenna Davis, Allison Williams, Ivanna Sakhno, Violet McGraw, Amie Donald and Brian Jordan Alvarez.

New on Blu-ray from Magnolia Home Entertainment is R.T. Thorne's 40 Acres, starring Danielle Deadwyler, Kataem O'Connor, Michael Greyeyes, Elizabeth Saunders, Tyrone Benskin and Mimi Côté.
Description: After a series of plagues and wars leaves society in ruins, the Freemans are surviving — even thriving — on a farm in the middle of nowhere... so long as they repel the occasional raiding party. A remastered Blu-ray for Colin Higgins' The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982), starring Burt Reynolds, Dolly Parton, Dom DeLuise, Charles Durning, Jim Nabors and Robert Mandan. Previously released by Universal in 2016, Kino presents The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas from a new 2K scan of a 35mm interpositive, with a choice of lossless 5.1 or 2.0 audio tracks. Extras include two new audio commentaries: one with film historians Paul Anthony Nelson and Perri Cummings and another with entertainment journalists / authors Bryan Reesman and Max Evry. Also included is a making-of featurette, outtakes and a newly remastered theatrical trailer.
A remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD release for Ken Finkleman's Airplane II: The Sequel (1982), starring Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty, Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves, William Shatner and Kent McCord. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, Kino presents Airplane II: The Sequel with a choice of lossless 5.1 or 2.0 audio tracks and Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include two new audio commentaries: one with Mike White (of The Projection Booth podcast) and another with television writer / showrunner Patrick Walsh, as well as a theatrical trailer.
And finally from Kino is a Blu-ray for Michelangelo Frammartino's Il Dono (The Gift) (2003), starring Angelo Frammartino and Gabriella Maiolo. Sourced from a 4K master (courtesy of Coproduction Office, Cineteca di Bologna at L'Immagine Ritrovata, and Augustus Color Laboratories, from the original camera and sound negatives, under the supervision of Michelangelo Frammartino), Kino presents Il Dono on Blu-ray for the first time, with a theatrical trailer.
Coming to 4K UHD from 20th Century Studios is Robert Wise's The Sound of Music (1965), starring Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Eleanor Parker, Richard Haydn, Peggy Wood and Charmian Carr. Sourced from a new 4K master, 20th Century Studios presents The Sound of Music with Dolby Vision HDR and a new Dolby Atmos audio remix. The 4K UHD disc and Blu-ray of the film contains two legacy audio commentary tracks (one with Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Charmian Carr, Dee Dee Wood and Johannes Von Trapp and another with Robert Wise) and a sing-along option, while the bulk of the extras are on a second Blu-ray disc, including the 2015 documentary The Sound of a City: Julie Andrews Returns to Salzburg and four Musical Stages extras (in HD), no less than three vintage feature-length documentaries on the film and on Rodgers and Hammerstein (in SD), audio interviews, screen tests, image galleries, trailers and many more video and audio extras.
