For the week that ended on August 30th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's live-action Lilo & Stitch (2025) topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. The latest entry in Disney's line of live-action remakes opened in May 2025 to positive reviews, but set the box office on fire, with a massive $146 million opening weekend, en route to over $423 million domestically and over $611 million internationally, for a staggering global take of over $1.035 billion. Thus, Lilo & Stitch is Hollywood's first billion-dollar-grossing film of 2025 and the first of Disney's remakes to gross over $1 billion since The Lion King six years ago. This week, Lilo & Stitch had an HD share of 54%, but just 10% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, which Disney currently offers only in SteelBook packaging.

Debuting in second place on both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Karate Kid: Legends. The sixth film in the Karate Kid franchise opened to mixed reviews in May 2025, but couldn't hold off Lilo & Stitch or Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, opening in third place. However, despite the competition, the film did manage over $52 million domestically and over $114 million worldwide on a reported $45 million budget. Sony has treated the franchise well on Blu-ray over the years, and with the release of a new film came The Karate Kid Ultimate 6-Movie Collection (1984-2025), an Amazon Exclusive twelve-disc gift set containing all six feature films on 4K UHD, including the premieres of The Next Karate Kid 4K (1994) and The Karate Kid 4K (2010), as well as new bonus features like The Karate Kid: The Animated Series (1989) in standard definition on Blu-ray. This week, Karate Kid: Legends sold 56% as many Blu-ray units as Lilo & Stitch, with an HD share of 48% and 17% of units sold from the 4K UHD format. Despite being a retailer exclusive, The Karate Kid Ultimate 6-Movie Collection came in at No. 15 on the Blu-ray-only chart and also cracked the top ten UHD Sellers for the week, as well.

Dropping to third place on the Blu-ray-only chart in its third week is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's How to Train Your Dragon (2025). A remake of the 2010 animated film of the same name, this new version boasted the same directors and blended live-action human performances (including actor Gerard Butler in a reprise of his voice role) with CGI-animated dragons. It opened in June 2025 to positive reviews and perhaps surprisingly, has outperformed all the fully-animated films in the series, with over $262 million domestically and now, over $630 million worldwide. This week, How to Train Your Dragon sold 51% as many Blu-ray units as Lilo & Stitch, with an HD share of 50% and 18% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Arrow Video's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) came in at No. 5 on the Blu-ray-only chart and was also the week's top 4K UHD title. Sony's Monty Python and the Holy Grail, (sorry, wrong film) another 4K UHD upgrade this week, came in at No. 6, while Arrow's 4K UHD upgrade of the horror sequel The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning came in at No. 8, Vidangel Studios' Blu-ray of The King of Kings (2025) debuted at No. 9 and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's The Conjuring, another 4K UHD upgrade this week, came in at No. 10. Outside the top ten, Shout Factory's 4K UHD combo pack release of City on Fire (1987) came in at No. 13 and Lionsgate Home Entertainment's But I'm a Cheerleader, which received a 4K UHD upgrade exclusively at Amazon, came in at No. 14, just above the aforementioned Karate Kid Ultimate 6-Movie Collection.

Elsewhere on the UHD Sellers chart, Shout Factory's double feature release of Deathstalker / Deathstalker II 4K (1983-1987) came in at No. 13, while Kino Lorber's The Rundown 4K came in at No. 15.
