British distributors Indicator/Powerhouse Films have announced their November batch of releases. They are: Columbia Noir #7: Made in Britain (1955-1957), Obsession (1949), Sword of Sherwood Forest (1960), A Challenge for Robin Hood (1967), Creatures the World Forgot (1971), and Watermelon Man (1970).

Hollywood legends including Richard Widmark (Madigan), Victor Mature (My Darling Clementine), and Arlene Dahl (Journey to the Center of the Earth) meet the cream of British talent, including Diana Dors (Berserk), Jack Hawkins (Gideon's Day), and Christopher Lee (Jinnah), in Columbia Noir #7: Made in Britain, a collection of six film noir tales from five major directors: Mark Robson (The Harder They Fall), Terence Fisher (The Gorgon), Ken Hughes (Chitty Chitty, Bang Bang), Vernon Sewell (Burke & Hare), and Sidney Gilliat (Endless Night).

Across the six films in this box set, a disaffected soldier hijacks a plane in order to pull off a gold bullion heist, a man faces the death penalty for his wife's death, a beauty queen stops at nothing in her rise to the top, a luckless boxer is lured into a world of mob violence by a femme fatale, an American G.I. battles mobsters in Glasgow and Liverpool, and an insurance man's chance encounter with an ex-lover leads to arson, blackmail... and murder.

This essential six-disc collection contains three Blu-ray world premieres, three Blu-ray UK premieres, and features an array of fascinating contextualising extras, including newly recorded commentaries, critical appreciations, rare archival short films, and a 120-page book. Sword of Sherwood Forest Standard Edition

Description: Britain's best-loved outlaw gets the Hammer treatment in Sword of Sherwood Forest, which sees Richard Greene (The Blood of Fu Manchu, The Castle of Fu Manchu) reprise the role he made famous in the classic television series The Adventures of Robin Hood.

When the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham (Peter Cushing, Corruption) wants to eliminate the Archbishop of Canterbury (Jack Gwillim, The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb) in order to seize the land of fallen nobles, his aides enlist the outlaw Robin Hood. Instead, Robin teams up with Maid Marion (Sarah Branch, Hell Is a City) to foil the plotters.

Directed by the great Terence Fisher (The Gorgon, The Revenge of Frankenstein), the film also boasts an uncredited early role for Oliver Reed (The Damned).

Creatures the World Forgot Standard Edition

Description: Following the enormous success of One Million Years B.C. in 1965, Hammer embarked on a series of prehistoric adventures over the next five years, concluding with Creatures the World Forgot. Directed by Don Chaffey – previously responsible for One Million Years B.C., not to mention the Ray Harryhausen classic Jason and the Argonauts – the film swapped dinosaurs for more adult content, starred former Miss Norway and ex-Bond girl Julie Ege (On Her Majesty's Secret Service), and earned itself an 'X' certificate in the process. Even today, it still rates an '18' from the BBFC!
