Australian label Imprint Films has informed us that it will add three new Asian titles to its Blu-ray catalog. They are: An Autumn's Tale (1987), Picture Bride (1994), and Father Knows Best – A Trilogy: Directed By Ang Lee (1991-1994).

FATHER KNOWS BEST - A TRILOGY: DIRECTED BY ANG LEE

Academy Award-winning director Ang Lee has soared to the heights of Hollywood with big-budget genre entries, but these 90s dramedies are where he made his start, then retroactively branded as the "Father Knows Best" trilogy.

Connected in their exploration of class and culture conflict, the three films tackle tension through a comedic lens, each starring regular Ang Lee collaborator Lung Sihung as a key paternal figure, and found critical and commercial success not only in Taiwan but on an international scale, catapulting Ang Lee into the global spotlight.

Limited Edition 3-Disc Hardbox with an insert booklet containing a NEW essay by film critic / author Walter Chaw. 1500 copies only.

AN AUTUMN'S TALE

This romantic drama from director Mabel Cheung stars Chow Yun-fat, Cherie Chung, and Danny Chan, in a heartwarming tale set in New York City, filled with charm and a meditative look at the immigrant experience.

When a naïve young woman travels from Hong Kong to New York City to study and visit her boyfriend and discovers that he is leaving the city with another woman, her downstairs neighbour tries to help her adjust to life in a foreign city.

PICTURE BRIDE

With only a picture in hand, a beautiful young woman leaves behind all she knows for the far-off islands of Hawaii – and an arranged marriage with a man she has never met.

Adored by critics and nominated for an Independent Spirit Award, this moving film stars Youki Kudoh and Akira Takayama, and includes frequent Kurosawa collaborator Toshiro Mifune in his final film role.
