British distributors 88 Films have provided final details for their upcoming Blu-ray release of Eloy de la Iglesia's
The Cannibal Man (1972), starring Vicente Parra, Emma Cohen, Eusebio Poncela, Vicky Lagos, and Ismael Merlo. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market on August 4.
Description: One of the original Video Nasties returns, ready to deprave and corrupt a whole new generation. The Cannibal Man is the story of Marcos, a slaughter-house worker turned serial killer, for whom one gruesome murder leads inexorably to another.
Once considered dangerous enough to be banned, there's more to Eloy De La Iglesia's movie than cheap thrills: it's a comment on life under fascism, a world where brutality leads to brutality. 88 Films are proud to present this misunderstood masterpiece, restored, remastered and still capable of drawing blood.
