Blu-ray Sales: July 6-12: Sinners Debuts at the Top of the Charts

For the week that ended on July 12th, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Sinners (2025) topped the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut week. The horror film from director Ryan Coogler, starring Michael B. Jordan in dual roles, opened in April 2025 to critical acclaim and box office success, eventually grossing over $278 million domestically and over $365 million worldwide. This week, Sinners had a strong HD share of 71%, with 41% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, enough to also top the UHD Sellers chart for the week.

Coming in second place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Shout Factory and GKIDS' re-release of Grave of the Fireflies (1988). The anime film, which focuses on the story of a Japanese boy and his younger sister struggling to survive the bombing of Japan in World War II, was previously issued on Blu-ray by Sentai Filmworks in 2012, but that disc had gone out-of-print. This week, Grave of the Fireflies sold 20% as many Blu-ray units as Sinners, with a perfect HD share of 100%.

Debuting in third place on the Blu-ray-only chart is 20th Century Studios' The Amateur (2025). A remake of the 1981 film of the same name (itself adapted from a novel by Robert Littell), the 2025 version of The Amateur opened in cinemas in April 2025 to mixed reviews and grossed $40 million domestically and $96 million globally against a reported $60 million budget. This week, The Amateur sold 18% as many Blu-ray units as Sinners, with a perfect HD share of 100% and 18% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Warner's Fallout: Season One (2024) debuted at No. 4 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while Paramount Home Media Distribution's Clueless (1995) and the Criterion Collection's Barry Lyndon, both of which received 4K UHD upgrades this week, came in at Nos. 8 and 9, respectively. Outside the top ten, Rhino Music's Jethro Tull: Still Living in the Past came in at No. 14.
