German label Filmjuwelen is preparing combo pack (4K Blu-ray/Blu-ray) releases of George Miller's The NeverEnding Story II (1990) and Peter MacDonald's The NeverEnding Story III (1994). The two releases are scheduled to arrive on the market on September 18.
The NeverEnding Story II: The Next Chapter
Descritpion: Having saved the magical land of Fantasia from destruction in "The Neverending Story," young Bastian (Jonathan Brandis) is having trouble in the real world. Feeling abandoned by his overworked father, Barney (John Wesley Shipp), he picks up the book that led to his first adventure. He hears the voice of Fantasia's ruler, the Childlike Empress (Alexandra Johnes), telling him that her land needs help. Bastian returns to the kingdom, now threatened by a sorceress named Xayide (Clarissa Burt).
The NeverEnding Story III: Escape From Fantasia
Descritpion: After his father remarries, Bastian (Jason James Richter) has trouble dealing with hostile stepsister Nicole (Melody Kay). At school, Bastian is bullied by Skip (Jack Black) and his pals. Retreating to the library, he runs into old Mr. Coreander (Freddie Jones) and again starts reading The Neverending Story, the book that transports him to Fantasia. Trouble ensues when Skip finds the volume and begins destroying the fantasy kingdom, forcing Bastian to return to the real world to stop him.
