BD Sales: Oct 26-Nov 1 – Transformers Stays on Top

In its second week, 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' topped again the Blu-ray charts, according to data from Nielsen VideoScan First Alert. The Transformers sequel sold over 50% more copies on BD than the runner-up, 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs' (which was the bestseller in packaged media overall).

Here is the Blu-ray top 10 (previous-week ranking in parenthesis):

  4. • Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure
  5. • Battlestar Galactica: The Plan

  9. (6) Monsters vs. Aliens
  10. (7) The Dark Knight
These are the Blu-ray market share percentages for the releases of the week:
  • Battlestar Galactica: The Plan: 25%
  • Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: 11%
  • Orphan: 10%
  • Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure: 9%
  • Nothing Like the Holidays: 2%
Overall, BD sales revenue was $26.52 million, up 181.76% from the same week last year. DVD sales revenue was $170.30 million, up 4.35% year-on-year.

Blu-ray accounted for 13.5% of total packaged-media sales revenue.
