Blu-ray Sales: May 18-24: Captain America: Brave New World Still on Top in Week Two

For the week that ended on May 24th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Captain America: Brave New World remained atop both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its second week. The 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe opened in February 2025 to mixed reviews, and while it found success at the box office to the tune of $200 million domestic and $415 million worldwide, those totals are still underwhelming for Marvel and far from the brand's billion-dollar-plus pre-pandemic successes. This week, Captain America: Brave New World had an HD share of 71%, with 39% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Coming in second place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's A Knight's Tale (2001) which was released on 4K UHD this week in both its theatrical and extended cuts, with a new Dolby Atmos remix (as well as original DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio), Dolby Vision HDR and new special features. This week, A Knight's Tale sold 20% as many Blu-ray units as Captain America: Brave New World, with an HD share of 99.9% and 96% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Rising from fifth to third place on the Blu-ray-only chart in its second week is Paramount Home Media Distribution's Landman: Season One (2024). This week, Landman: Season One sold 19% as many Blu-ray units as Captain America: Brave New World, with an HD share of 31%.

Elsewhere on the charts, Arrow Video's Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and Jason X, both of which were also released on 4K UHD this week, came in at Nos. 5 and 6 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while Decal Releasing's Presence (2024) debuted at No. 9 and BBC's Blu-ray of Doctor Who: The Savages (1966) came in at No. 10.

Elsewhere on the UHD Sellers chart, Kino Lorber's Prophecy 4K (1979) came in at No. 12, while Shout Factory's box set Blaxploitation Classics Vol. 1 4K (1972-1975) came in at No. 13 and the Criterion Collection's Withnail and I 4K came in at No. 17.
