Kino Lorber are preparing a Blu-ray release of José Giovanni's
Birds of Prey a.k.a.
Le Rapace (1968), starring Lino Ventura, Rosa Furman, Aurora Clavel, Enrique Lucero, and Carlos Cardán. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.
A veteran French hitman (Ventura), known in the underworld as "Le Rital," is hired to kill the president of a South American country. Accompanied by the former president's grandson, he moves into a house opposite the presidential palace, where a friendship develops between the two. The hitman carries out his mission, but the revolutionaries are unable to take advantage of the situation, and he finds himself torn between his profession and his budding relationship with the young man.
