For the week that ended on May 17th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's
Captain America: Brave New World topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. The 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe opened in February 2025 to mixed reviews, and while it found success at the box office to the tune of $200 million domestic and $415 million worldwide, those totals are still underwhelming for Marvel and far from the brand's billion-dollar-plus pre-pandemic successes. This week,
Captain America: Brave New World had an HD share of 71%, with 39% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Debuting in second place is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's
Mickey 17. The sci-fi film from Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho opened in March 2025 to critical praise, but was a box office bomb, grossing just $46 million domestically and $131 million worldwide against a reported budget of $118 million and a large marketing campaign on top. Hopefully, the film will find its audience on home video and this week,
Mickey 17 sold 28% as many Blu-ray units as
Captain America: Brave New World, with a strong HD share of 72% and 42% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Debuting in third place is Mill Creek Entertainment's
Masters of the Universe: Revelation / Revolution. The direct-to-video animated title sold just 8% as many Blu-ray units as
Captain America: Brave New World, albeit with a perfect HD share of 100%.
Elsewhere on the charts, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's
Black Bag debuted at No. 4 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while Paramount Home Media Distribution's
Landman: Season One (2024) debuted at No. 5, Warner's
Dune: Prophecy - The Complete First Season (2024) debuted at No. 6 and Paramount's
Better Man (2024) debuted at No. 9.
Elsewhere on the UHD Sellers chart, Arrow Video's
The Andromeda Strain 4K (1971) came in at No. 8, while outside the top ten, Kino Lorber's
Vice Squad 4K (1982) came in at No. 17.
