For the week of April 7th, Oscilloscope Pictures will release Adrien Beau's The Vourdalak (Le Vourdalak), starring Kacey Mottet Klein, Ariane Labed, Grégoire Colin, Vassili Schneider, Claire Duburcq and Gabriel Pavie.

Description: When the Marquis d'Urfé, a noble emissary of the King of France, is attacked and abandoned in the remote countryside, he finds refuge at an eerie, isolated manor. The resident family, reluctant to take him in, exhibits strange behavior as they await the imminent return of their father, Gorcha. But what begins simply as strange quickly devolves into a full fledged nightmare when Gorcha returns, seemingly no longer himself...

Adapted from a novella that predates Bram Stoker's Dracula by over half a century, The Vourdalak is an atmospheric, unexpected, sensorial experience that will leave you reeling and giddy in equal measure.

Oscilloscope's Blu-ray of The Vourdalak contains a behind-the-scenes Featurette, the short films La Petite Sirene and Les Condiments Irréguiers, a deleted scene and a theatrical trailer.

New on Blu-ray from Music Box Films is Steve Way's Good Bad Things, starring Danny Kurtzman, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Brett Dier.

Description: Danny, a young man with muscular dystrophy, steps out of his comfort zone and into the world of online dating. An unexpected match with dynamic photographer Madi challenges him to open up and sparks a profound journey of self-acceptance.

New on Blu-ray from Crunchyroll is the anime series Shangri-La Frontier: Season 1, Part 2 (シャングリラ・フロンティア) (2024), starring Yuma Uchida, Azumi Waki, Rina Hidaka, Yoko Hikasa, Makoto Koichi and Akio Ôtsuka.

Description: After an almost endless grind, Sunraku is on a whole new level. Now with his party of fellow trash gamers, he's ready for anything SLF can throw. But is he truly ready for a god-tier boss? It's time for him to test his vorpal soul in this epic encounter.

Crunchyroll's Blu-ray of Shangri-La Frontier: Season 1, Part 2 is a two-disc set with 12 episodes and a choice of original Japanese: Dolby TrueHD 2.0 (with English subtitles) or dubbed English: Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio options. Extras include the Recap Episode 14.5, SLF Mini - Shangri-La Frontier Theater, a promo video and textless opening and ending songs.

Also new on Blu-ray from Crunchyroll is the anime series Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers: The Complete Season (Lv2からチートだった元勇者候補のまったり異世界ライフ) (2024), starring Satoshi Hino, Rie Kugimiya, Aya Yamane, Ayako Kawasumi, Fuminori Komatsu and Jun Fukushima.

Description: Summoned as a hero candidate and then cast aside for being too weak, Flio suddenly unlocks incredible power after reaching level 2. While he just wants to enjoy life with his new demon wife, both sides of an ancient war desperately want him on their side.

New on Blu-ray from Sentai Filmworks is the anime film Princess Principal: Crown Handler - Chapter 3 ( プリンセス・プリンシパル Crown Handler) (2023), starring Aoi Koga, Akira Sekine, Yô Taichi, Akari Kageyama, Nozomi Furuki and Takayuki Sugo.

Description: Who's in the box at the Royal Funeral? Sadly, it's Prince Edward, and that leaves Princess Mary and Prince Richard as the next two heirs in the line of succession. Which, since the Duke was responsible for Edward's assassination, means that Mary's time as an heir to the throne may be cut unpleasantly short. Team White Pigeon is about to swoop in, but even with Ange and Dorothy disguised as maids, can they possibly clean up all the treachery and political corruption before the Duke's diabolical plans come to fruition in PRINCESS PRINCIPAL – CROWN HANDLER 3?!

Sentai Filmworks' Blu-ray of Princess Principal: Crown Handler - Chapter 3 comes with a choice of original Japanese: DTS-HD MA 5.1 (with English subtitles) or dubbed English: DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio options. Extras include clean opening animation and the short Cost of Custom Car.

Turning to catalog titles, Kino Lorber has the Blu-ray box set Film Noir: The Dark Side of Cinema XXV (1947-1954), a three-disc set containing three films by John H. Auer: The Blu-ray premiere of The Flame (1947), starring John Carroll, Vera Ralston, Robert Paige, Broderick Crawford, Henry Travers and Blanche Yurka, as well as remastered Blu-rays for Auer's films City That Never Sleeps (1953) and Hell's Half Acre (1954), both of which had debuted on Blu-ray in 2013. All three films are now sourced from 4K scans done by Paramount Pictures in 2017 and 2024. Extras include audio commentaries on The Flame and Hell's Half Acre by Heath Holland (host of the podcast Cereal at Midnight), and audio commentary on City That Never Sleeps by film historian Imogen Sara Smith.

Also coming to Blu-ray from Kino is John Boulting's I'm All Right Jack (1959), starring Ian Carmichael, Peter Sellers, Terry-Thomas, Richard Attenborough, Dennis Price and Margaret Rutherford. Kino's Blu-ray includes audio commentary by authors and comedy historians Gemma and Robert Ross, an interview with Liz Smith and a theatrical trailer.

Coming from the Criterion Collection is a new 4K UHD edition of Billy Wilder's Some Like It Hot (1959), starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Pat O'Brien, George Raft and Joe E. Brown. Previously released on Blu-ray by Criterion in 2018 and then on 4K UHD by Kino Lorber in 2022, Criterion's new 4K UHD edition of Some Like It Hot is sourced from a 4K master, with original LPCM Mono audio and, on the 4K UHD disc, an alternate DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio option, as well as Dolby Vision HDR. Extras include Criterion's Laserdisc audio commentary from 1989 with film scholar Howard Suber, while a Blu-ray additionally contains a 1982 interview with Billy Wilder from The Dick Cavett Show, an audio interview from 1955 with Marilyn Monroe, a 1988 interview with Jack Lemmon from the French TV program Cinéma cinémas, a conversation between Tony Curtis and film critic Leonard Maltin from 2001, a featurette from 2018 on Orry-Kelly's costumes for the film, three archival behind-the-scenes featurettes and a trailer. Coming to Blu-ray from Radiance Films is the box set Hardboiled: Three Pulp Thrillers by Alain Corneau (1976-1981), a three-disc set containing Corneau's films Police Python 357 (1976), starring Yves Montand, François Périer, Simone Signoret, Stefania Sandrelli, Mathieu Carrière and Vadim Glowna, Série noire (1979), starring Patrick Dewaere, Myriam Boyer, Marie Trintignant, Bernard Blier, Jeanne Herviale and Andreas Katsulas and Choice of Arms (Le Choix des armes) (1981), starring Yves Montand, Gérard Depardieu, Catherine Deneuve, Michel Galabru, Gérard Lanvin and Jean-Claude Dauphin. Sourced from new 4K scans by StudioCanal, Radiance presents all three films with LPCM 2.0 Mono audio and optional English subtitles. Extras include new audio commentary on Police Python 357 by Mike White, a new interview with Maxim Jakubowski on the source novel of Police Python 357 and its adaptation, a new visual essay about Jim Thompson adaptations, a new introduction to Choice of Arms by documentary filmmaker Jérôme Wybon, a new interview with Manuela Lazic on Yves Montand in the 1970s, archive interviews with cast and crew for all three films, the documentary Série noire: The Darkness of the Soul (2013), interviews from 2002 with Corneau and Marie Trintignant and trailers for Série noire and Choice of Arms. Limited edition content includes an "80-page booklet featuring new writing by Andrew Male, Nick Pinkerton, Charlie Brigden, and newly translated archival writing". Coming to 4K UHD from Shout Factory is Carol Frank's Sorority House Massacre (1986), starring Aimee Brooks, Angela O'Neill, Wendy Martel, Pamela Ross, Nicole Rio and John C. Russell. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, Shout presents Sorority House Massacre with DTS-HD MA Mono audio and Dolby Vision HDR. Extras include the new featurette "The Final Girl" - A Guide to Surviving Slasher Films, as well as the extended UK VHS cut, interviews with actors Angela O'Neill, Nicole Rio and Vinnie Bilancio, author / film historian Amanda Reyes and executive producer Roger Corman, as well as an original trailer.

Coming to 4K UHD from Arrow Video is Renny Harlin's The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996), starring Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson, Yvonne Zima, Craig Bierko, Tom Amandes and Brian Cox. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative by Warner Bros.' Motion Picture Imaging, Arrow presents The Long Kiss Goodnight with a choice of a new Dolby Atmos remix, original DTS-HD MA 5.1 or DTS-HD MA 2.0 audio options and Dolby Vision HDR. Extras include two new audio commentaries: one by film critic Walter Chaw and the other by film critics Drusilla Adeline and Joshua Conkel, as well as a theatrical trailer and image gallery, while an included Blu-ray of extras adds new interviews with Yvonne Zima, stunt coordinator Steve Davidson and make up artist Gordon J. Smith, new visual essays by film scholar Josh Nelson, critic and filmmaker Howard S. Berger and film scholar Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, deleted scenes, promotional interviews with Renny Harlin, Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson and Craig Bierko, a making of featurette and behind-the-scenes. Limited edition content includes a reversible cover, a seasonal postcard, a sticker and an "illustrated collector's booklet featuring new writing on the film by Clem Bastow, Richard Kadrey, Maura McHugh, and Priscilla Page". Finally this week, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Warner Archive Collection will release a Blu-ray for Roger Kumble's Just Friends (2005), starring Ryan Reynolds, Amy Smart, Anna Faris, Chris Klein, Christopher Marquette and Fred Ewanuick. Warner Archive presents Just Friends with DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio. Extras include filmmaker commentary, blooper reel, deleted scenes, alternate ending, 9 behind-the-scenes featurettes, a music video for "Jamie Smiles", the film's original theatrical trailer and more.
