Independent distributors Indicator/Powerhouse Films have announced their April batch of Blu-ray releases. They are: Little Man, What Now? (1934), Spawn of the North (1938), Dangerous to Know (1938), and Behold a Pale Horse (1964). The four releases will be available for purchase on April 21.

Little Man, What Now?

From director Frank Borzage (Desire) comes Little Man, What Now?, a romantic drama starring Margaret Sullavan (The Shop Around the Corner) and Douglass Montgomery (Little Women).

In depression-era Germany, Hans (Montgomery) and his pregnant wife Emma (Sullavan) – affectionately known as 'Lammchen' – struggle to keep their heads above water. Their situation is complicated when Hans' boss, who believes him to be a bachelor, demands that he marry his daughter.

Based on the best-selling novel by Hans Fallada (Alone in Berlin) that has been adapted on numerous occasions in its native Germany, Little Man, What Now? is a heart-rending tale of life on the margins.

Crime lord Stephen Recka (Tamiroff) will stop at nothing to marry socialite Margaret (Patrick), including murder and blackmail. However, his pathologically jealous mistress Lan Ying (Wong) will stop at nothing to keep them apart. Based on Edgar Wallace's hugely successful play On the Spot – which was such a big hit that several studios repeatedly attempted to bring it to the big screen, only to be rejected by the censors at the Production Office – Dangerous to Know is marked by its standout performance by Chinese American screen legend Anna May Wong, reprising her stage role.
