Beginning on November 17, Naxos of America will commence distribution of the Berlin music company C Major Entertainment, which is launching its new disc Label C Major with the repertoire of the Unitel production company. Titles scheduled for release on Blu-ray in North America in November include a Blu-ray performance of Puccini's 'Turandot', led by Zubin Mehta and directed by acclaimed Chinese filmmaker Chen Kaige. All current operas will be available both in DVD format and in Blu-ray with 7.1 sound.

Current publication highlights include Catalan theatre innovators La Fura dels Baus' spectacular new production of Wagner's Ring Cycle (Der Ring des Nibelungen) from the Valencia Opera House, conducted by Zubin Mehta, the latest production of Verdi's 'Otello' from the Salzburg Festival Theatre with Riccardo Muti, and Prokofiev's 'The Gambler' (Der Spieler) from the State Opera House Berlin under Daniel Barenboim.

In addition, concert recordings by Herbert von Karajan and Leonard Bernstein through to the latest recordings from Christian Thielemann (Brahms's 'German Requiem' and Bruckner's symphonies) will also be available as well as fascinating portraits of André Previn and Nicolaus Harnoncourt, among others.

Elmar Kruse, managing director of C Major, comments on C Major Entertainment's strategy as follows: “In the past three years we have managed to position ourselves successfully in the area of TV marketing, together with our partners Unitel, Arthaus, Allegro and Avo Session. With the new label C Major we will be able to present not only the latest stage and concert highlights, but also uncover legendary archive treasures from Karl Böhm, Herbert von Karajan and Leonard Bernstein. I am looking forward to a strong partnership with Unitel , the leading brand in audio-visual classical music since 1966 and Naxos, the worldwide leader in classical music marketing.”
