Blu-ray Sales: November 3-9: Deadpool & Wolverine Set a Trap for The Crow

For the week that ended on November 9th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment and 20th Century Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine spent a third week on top of both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts. The 34th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe smashed box office records when it opened in July 2024, grossing over $636 million domestically and over $1.3 billion worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time and the second-highest-grossing film of 2024 to date, behind only Inside Out 2. This week, Deadpool & Wolverine had an HD share of 63% and 29% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Remaining in second place on both charts in its third week is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Twisters. The long-gestating sequel to the 1996 film Twister finally opened in July 2024--a week before Deadpool & Wolverine--to mostly positive reviews and box office success, eventually grossing over $267 million domestically and $370 million worldwide. This week, Twisters sold 30% as many Blu-ray units as Deadpool & Wolverine, with an HD share of 48% and 14% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Debuting in third place on both charts this week is Lionsgate Home Entertainment's The Crow (2024). An intended reboot of the 1994 film (which, incidentally, topped the charts when it was reissued on 4K UHD back in May), this new version bombed at the box office when it was released in August 2024, opening in eighth place amid a crowd of popular holdovers and fellow new releases, eventually grossing only $9 million domestically and less than $24 million worldwide. This week, The Crow sold 24% as many Blu-ray units as Deadpool & Wolverine, with an HD share of 68% and 30% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the Blu-ray-only chart, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Trap (2024), Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's It Ends with Us and Lionsgate's The 4:30 Movie debuted at Nos. 4, 5 and 6, respectively. Paramount Home Media Distribution's White Christmas (1954) and We Were Soldiers, both of which were released on 4K UHD this week, came in at Nos. 8 and 11, while the studio's Blu-ray release of I Love Lucy: The Complete Series came in at No. 14. Finally, the Criterion Collection's Godzilla (1954), another 4K UHD upgrade this week, came in at No. 19.

Elsewhere on the UHD Sellers chart, Kino Lorber's Rules of Engagement 4K (2000) came in at No. 16.
