A month ago, specialized site Apple Insider
reported that Apple would probably soon launch a new family of iMacs with Blu-ray. But now, the site is reporting that people close to Apple have "picked up on chatter" suggesting that those plans were scrapped just before the systems went into production last month, and thus the new iMacs will ship without a BD drive.
