Severin has revealed that it is preparing a 4K Blu-ray release of Umberto Lenzi's Eaten Alive! (1980), starring Robert Kerman, Janet Agren, Ivan Rassimov, Paola Senatore, and Me Me Lai. The release is scheduled to arrive on the market during Black Friday.
Description: After launching the genre with MAN FROM DEEP RIVER, writer/director Umberto Lenzi "ups the ante and then some" (Dread Central) with "the most entertaining cannibal adventure of them all" (Daily Dead), now in UHD for the first time ever: A desperate rescue expedition to the jungles of New Guinea will unleash bizarre primitive rituals, over-the-top violence, gratuitous nudity, recycled footage, a maniacal cult leader and an all-you-can-eat buffet of flesh-chomping carnage. Robert Kerman (CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST), Janet Agren (CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD), Ivan Rassimov (ALL THE COLORS OF THE DARK), Paola Senatore (EMANUELLE IN AMERICA), Me Me Lai (LAST CANNIBAL WORLD) and Mel Ferrer (THE GREAT ALLIGATOR) star in this "grisly greatest hits package" (Mondo Digital) scanned in 4K from the CRI with over 4 hours of Special Features that include a newly discovered discussion of cannibal films between Umberto Lenzi and Ruggero Deodato.
