Many science-fiction enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for the Blu-ray release of Duncan Jones's critically-acclaimed space isolation drama '
Moon', especially after it was announced in
the UK for November 16. But they'll have to wait a bit longer, according to what Jones himself posted on his Twitter page: the US release is unofficially set to January 12.
The filmmaker considers the US release date "slightly ridiculous", but it might be argued that non-mainstream titles such as this have a better chance if released in the now-famous "fifth quarter."
There is no information as to whether the UK edition will be region locked. Its bonus features include:
- Commentary with writer/director Duncan Jones, director of photography Gary Shaw, concept designer Gavin Rothery and production designer Tony Noble
- Commentary with writer/director Duncan Jones and producer Stuart Fenegan
- "Whistle", a short film by Duncan Jones
- The Making of Moon
- Creating the Visual Effects
- Science Center Q&A with director Duncan Jones
- Filmmaker's Q&A at the Sundance Film Festival
- Concept Art Library (BD exclusive)
- How Did They Do That: Cloning Sam (BD exclusive)
