Blu-ray Sales: October 6-12: A Quiet Place: Day One is Number One on the Charts

For the week that ended on October 12th, Paramount Home Media Distribution's A Quiet Place: Day One topped both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut, The horror prequel opened in June 2024 to positive reviews and an opening weekend of over $52 million, en route to over $138 million domestically and over $261 million globally. This week, A Quiet Place: Day One had an HD share of 54% and 26% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

And debuting in second place on both charts is Lionsgate Home Entertainment's MaXXXine. The third installment in director Ti West's X film series opened in June 2024 to generally positive reviews and has grossed over $15 million domestically and over $22 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing film of the series. This week, MaXXXine sold 80% as many Blu-ray units as A Quiet Place: Day One, with a perfect HD share of 100% and 41% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Dropping to third place on the Blu-ray-only chart in its third week is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Despicable Me 4. The latest entry in the animated franchise opened in July 2024 and topped the box office en route to over $361 million domestically and over $961 million worldwide. This week, Despicable Me 4 sold 60% as many Blu-ray units as A Quiet Place: Day One, with an HD share of 42% and 6% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Shout Factory's Arcane: Season One (2021) debuted at No. 4 (with a perfect HD share of 100% and 69% of units sold from the 4K UHD format), while outside the top ten, Viz Media's Castlevania: Nocturne - Season One (2023) debuted at No. 18.
