Blu-ray Sales: September 29-October 5: Despicable Me 4 Still Number One in Second Week

For the week that ended on October 5th, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Despicable Me 4 remained on top of both the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its second week. The latest entry in the animated franchise opened in July 2024 and topped the box office en route to over $361 million domestically and over $961 million worldwide. This week, Despicable Me 4 had an HD share of 43% and 5% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Remaining in second place on both charts in its second week is Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Also the fourth entry in its own series, the film opened in June 2024 to mixed reviews but topped the box office with over $56 million, eventually grossing over $193 million domestically and over $404 million globally. This week, Bad Boys: Ride or Die sold 65% as many Blu-ray units as Despicable Me 4, with an HD share of 40% and 12% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

And remaining in third place in its second week is Decal Releasing's Longlegs. The horror film opened in July 2024 to positive reviews and box office success, placing second only to Despicable Me 4 on its opening weekend and eventually grossing over $108 million worldwide. This week, Longlegs again sold 44% as many Blu-ray units as Despicable Me 4, with an HD share of 50% and 16% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Blu-ray of The West Wing: The Complete Series came in at No. 13, while elsewhere on the UHD Sellers chart, Paramount Home Media Distribution's Paramount Scares: Volume 2 4K box set came in at No. 6, while outside the top ten, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Imaginary 4K, which is currently available only as an Amazon Exclusive SteelBook, came in at No. 17.
