Australian label Umbrella Entertainment has announced its January batch of Blu-ray releases. They are: Metal Skin (1994), Creep (2004), Severance (2006), Hounds of Love (2016), and Lars and the Real Girl (2007). All releases will be available for purchase on January 15.
From director Geoffrey Wright (Romper Stomper) and featuring early performances from Ben Mendelsohn (Rogue One, Animal Kingdom) and Aden Young (Rectify, The Unseen) METAL SKIN is a full throttle, nihilistic ode to suburban hopelessness.
Following his widely acclaimed Romper Stomper, Geoffrey Wright again takes us to the lower depths of Generation X in a fractured society with this criminally underrated action-romance-satanic-thriller.
In the gritty neglected suburbs of western Melbourne, a group of disillusioned youths navigate the harsh realities of their bleak existence. "Psycho" Joe (Young) is an awkward misfit steeped in solitude and isolation, until he starts a new job at a local supermarket. Here he meets local Don Juan, the charming and irresponsible Dazey (Mendelsohn), Dazey's beautiful and traumatized girlfriend Robyn (Nadine Garner) and Dazey-obsessed satanist Savina (Tara Morice, Strictly Ballroom). Tensions rise as the group grapple with their desires, dreams, and the harsh truths of their world, leading an increasingly lonely and desperate Joe to reach his boiling point.

Descend into an eruption of subterranean slashing in the survival horror CREEP from Christopher Smith (Severance, Triangle) starring Franka Potente (Run Lola Run) and Vas Blackwood (Mean Machine). Delivering relentless scares and psychological suspense, CREEP is a nightmare you can't escape.
London, midnight, on a cold winters evening. Unable to find a taxi in the West End, Kate (Franka Potente) heads for the Underground. Slightly tipsy, she waits for the last train but drifts off to sleep ... and awkens to find everybody else gone. Gripped by panic she attempts to leave the station, she realises she has been locked in. Then a train pulls into the platform and she boards, somewhat unnerved, as she is the only passenger. Her relief at finally being on her journey home turns to alarm when halfway through the train jerks to a halt and her carriage is plunged into darkness. Kate is about to face the first in a series of terrifying events, ones that will shatter her nerve and chic composure - testing her endurance to the limit. She is not alone in the maze of nooks and dark crannies. Lurking in the pitch-black maze is something unimaginable. Something that calls a hidden laboratory home. And something that won't leave Kate alone. From Writer/Director Christopher Smith (Severance, Triangle) CREEP delivers relentless scares and psychological suspense, making it a nightmare you can't escape.
