For the week that ended on August 10th, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Civil War just edged out the competition to re-take the top spot on the Blu-ray-only chart. Alex Garland's thriller opened in April 2024 to mostly positive reviews, topping the box office and eventually grossing over $68 million domestically and over $122 million worldwide. This week, Civil War had a perfect HD share of 100% and 27% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Dropping to second place on the Blu-ray-only chart in its third week is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's The Fall Guy (2024). Based on the 1980s TV series, The Fall Guy opened in May 2024 to positive reviews and topped the box office, albeit with only about $27 million. Ultimately, the film underperformed in cinemas, taking in over $95 million domestically and over $177 million worldwide on a reported budget of between $125-$150 million. This week, The Fall Guy sold 99.56% (!) as many Blu-ray units as Civil War, with an HD share of 52% and 19% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Taking third place is Shout Factory and GKIDS' The Boy and the Heron (AKA How Do You Live?) (君たちはどう生きるか), Studio Ghibli's latest anime film, for which legendary director Hayao Miyazaki came out of retirement, opened in Japan in July 2023 to box office success and critical acclaim. It did the same when it opened in the US in early December 2023, topping the box office on its opening weekend en route to a global total of over $294 million (becoming the fifth highest-grossing Japanese film of all time), and winning dozens of awards, including the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film and in the UK, the BAFTA for Best Animated Film. This week, The Boy and the Heron sold 62% as many Blu-ray units as Civil War, with a perfect HD share of 100% and 63% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Shout's Bill & Ted's Most Triumphant Trilogy (1989-2020) came in at No. 16 on the Blu-ray-only chart and No. 6 on the UHD Sellers chart for the week.
