For the week that ended on August 3rd, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's
The Fall Guy (2024) remained on top of the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its second week. Based on the 1980s TV series,
The Fall Guy opened in May 2024 to positive reviews and topped the box office, albeit with only about $27 million. Ultimately, the film underperformed in cinemas, taking in over $95 million domestically and over $177 million worldwide on a reported budget of between $125-$150 million.This week,
The Fall Guy had an HD share of 54% and 18% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Moving up a spot to second place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Lionsgate Home Entertainment's
Civil War. Alex Garland's thriller opened in April 2024 to mostly positive reviews, topping the box office and eventually grossing over $68 million domestically and over $122 million worldwide. This week,
Civil War sold 71% as many Blu-ray units as
The Fall Guy, with a perfect HD share of 100% and 27% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
And moving up to third place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's
Twister (1996). The disaster film was both an early DVD release and an early Blu-ray release, but was recently remastered and released on 4K UHD. This week,
Twister sold 47% as many Blu-ray units as
The Fall Guy, with an HD share of 60% and 42% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Elsewhere on the charts, Walt Disney Home Entertainment and 20th Century Studios'
The First Omen was the week's top new release, coming in at No. 5 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while Warner's
Ted Lasso: The Richmond Way (2020-2023) debuted at No. 7.
On the UHD Sellers chart, Arrow Video's
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. 4K (2015) came in at No. 6, while Paramount Home Media Distribution's
Election 4K (1999) came in at No. 10. Outside the top ten, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's
The Lady from Shanghai 4K came in at No. 13, Shout Factory's
No Way Out 4K (1987) came in at No. 16 and Sony's standalone release of
Run Lola Run 4K (originally released as part of the
Sony Pictures Classics: 30th Anniversary Collection in 2022) came in at No. 19.
