X-Men Origins: Wolverine' cut through the Blu-ray sales charts like butter, according to Nielsen VideoScan. The domination of the charts by the origin story of the mutant superhero was such that the BD sold over six times as much as the rest of the top ten put together.

'Wolverine' also got a remarkable 27 percent of its total disc sales from its Blu-ray edition, although that figure is still far from the absolute first-week BD share record, still held by '
Watchmen'
with no less than
36 percent.
According to Home Media Magazine market research, 'Wolverine' sold about 3 million total copies (DVD and BD combined), which would put Blu-ray unit sales for the titles at just above 800,000.
Update
Overall, BD sales revenue was $25.49 million, up 273.38% from the same week last year. DVD sales revenue was $179.20 million, up 16.68% year-on-year.
Blu-ray accounted for 12.5% of total packaged-media sales revenue.
